VTG 1950s West Germany Pin Brooch Fleur-De-Lis AB Blue Rhinestone Christianity

This vintage brooch from the 1950s is a beautiful piece of West German craftsmanship. The Fleur-De-Lis design with a cross represents the Virgin Mary and is a symbol of purity or innocence. The brooch features an older style round hinge and a straight brooch backing with a long pin for easy wear. Please note, the backing appears to be original to the piece, but a much earlier design. The locking mechanism is loose, but holds the pin in place. The rhinestone main stone is lab-created and has an Aurora Borealis treatment which gives it a beautiful blue color. The brooch measures 1.8 inches in length and 1.3 inches in width. The Fleur-de-lis has a cross embossed on the stem. The symbol is know to be both heraldic and also a representation of the Virgin Mary, symbolizing purity and innocence.
