The cat is very large and heavy (10 lbs) The hand painted and polished elaborate detail is outstanding. Minor chips on bottom rim as shown This piece is all handmade, hand painted and burnished in Tonala, Jalisco Mexico. It is a wonderful example of Mexican Folk art and barro brunido ceramic traditions from this area of Mexico. Although the colors are mostly neutral, it's colors stand out and are exceptional. Excellent piece to add to anyone's collection who appreciates fine Mexican Folk Art or cats!
